Table of Contents

Step 1: Identify fill hole located on the bottom of the base, align Sand Funnel over it

  • Hole should closest to edge and have a threaded metal insert.
  • This is NOT the hole in the very center of the base.

Step 2: Fully place sand funnel inside hole, fill base with entire bag of included sand

  1. Begin emptying entire contents of sand bag into base.
    • It is recommended to only pour enough sand to fill 2/3rd’s of sand funnel and wait for it to empty out before adding more sand.
    • Frequently shake base back and forth to settle sand and allow for more pouring.
    • Only shake base when there is no sand in funnel, otherwise sand may spill out.

Step 3: Install M10 countersunk screw

  1. Once base is completely filled with sand, identify the M10 countersunk screw which is the shortest of the 2 countersunk screws.

  2. Identify the M6 Hex Wrench, which is the largest one.

  3. Insert M10 countersunk screw in fill hole and begin tightening screw using M6 Hex Wrench.
    • Turn screw clockwise to tighten.
    • Tighten screw until you feel slight resistance. Then do a 1/2 turn.

Warning! Do not overtighten screw, overtightening could cause damage to base.

Step 4: Install aluminum extrusion

  1. Place aluminum extrusion inside square hole on top of base, and push down all the way until the extrusion is fully inserted and bottoms out in the base.
    • Clearances will be tight, insert extrusion slowly and carefully.
    • The aluminum extrusion features a single slot, this can be facing any direction.

Step 5: Install M8 countersunk screw

  1. With the aluminum extrusion in place, identify the M8 countersunk screw which is the longest of the 2 countersunk screws.

  2. Identify the M5 Hex Wrench, which is the 2nd largest one.

  3. Base can be oriented upside down as shown in diagram below or rested on its side. It is recommended to rest base on its side as it is easier to handle given the weight of the base.

  4. Insert M8 countersunk screw into the center of the base and begin tightening screw using M5 Hex Wrench.
    • Turn screw clockwise to tighten.
    • Tighten screw until you feel slight resistance. Then do a 1/2 turn.

If screw is not tightening, go back to Step 4 to make sure aluminum extrusion is fully inserted.

     5. The aluminum extrusion should now be firmly secured to the base.

Warning! Do not overtighten screw, overtightening could cause damage to base.

Step 6: Install VEYL Bricks Shell

  1. With the aluminum extrusion firmly secured to the base, orient the base so the bottom is now resting on the ground.
    • If not done so, move assembled parts near the planned location as it will be more difficult to move after full assembly.

  2. With the VEYL Bricks shell major opening facing the bottom, pick up the shell and place it down on top of the base as shown in the diagram (Figure A).
    • Make sure the square center slot in the shell aligns with the aluminum extrusion. (Figure B)
    • Gently move shell down towards base. If shell is not smoothly inserting into aluminum extrusion, check orientation and try again.
    • Do not force shell down without checking orientation, damage to the shell may occur as a result.

  3. With Shell on top of base, push down until you notice the shell click into the base. (Figure C)
    • If you don’t hear a click, you can verify shell is attached to base by slightly pulling shell upwards. If shell doesn’t move and feels solid, it is attached.

Step 7: Prep tempered glass table top

  1. Identify and prep a flat surface area to place tempered glass table top. Make sure surface is soft so glass doesn’t scratch. Recommendations are to use towels, shirts, or similar material.

  2. Carefully remove tempered glass table top from packaging, and place on soft surface so the aluminum mounting disk is facing up.

  3. Identify the M6 set screw, which is the smallest screw.
    • If guide was followed properly, the M6 set screw should be the only screw left.

  4. Orient the M6 set screw so that the hex cavity is facing the aluminum mounting disk. (Figure A)
    • The “tip” of the set screw should be facing outward, away from the glass.

  5. Begin tightening M6 set screw into mounting disk, turning clockwise. Hand tighten until the set screw fully bottoms out inside the mounting disk. (Figure B)
    • Hand tight means using just your fingers to tighten, not using any additional tools.

(Figure B)

Step 8: Attach tempered glass top

  1. With tempered glass prepped and set screw installed, align center of tempered glass with center of aluminum extrusion, mounting disk facing down. (Figure A)

  2. Place prepped tempered glass set screw on top of the aluminum extrusion threaded hole, and begin turning entire glass clockwise to begin tightening assembly together. (Figure B)
    • While turning tempered glass, you may need to brace the shell to lightly  avoid shifting.

  3. Keep turning glass until it tightens to shell assembly. Once that occurs only tighten slightly more to secure glass.
    • Do not overtighten, damage to shell may occur as a result.

Notes

  • The M4 Hex Wrench is not used in normal assembly. It is only used in a situation where the set screw is stuck inside the aluminum extrusion where hand loosening is not possible.
